Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much will the installation of a new sprinkler system cost?

It will depend on the size of your property and the complexity of the system you want installed. We can schedule an appointment for a no-obligation quotation for a system tailored for your needs.

2. How long will a new installation of a sprinkler system take?

It can be done as quickly as one day, depending on the property.

3. What is the warranty for new installations?

For sprinkler heads, we offer warranty for 5 years. For controllers, we offer 3 years of warranty. For other parts and fittings, we offer a year of warranty. For pump systems in ponds, we don’t offer warranty. Pumps tend to be damaged easily in such environments.

5. What are start ups?

Start ups allow your sprinkler system to be operational for the season. It involves inspecting various parts of your system (like its valves and heads) to ensure that they are in order. Water is then let in the system for its use.

6. What are closings/shutdowns and why are they important?

Closings involves shutting off the water, turning off the timer, draining the water from your system (usually with a compressor), then insulating the above-ground components of your sprinkler system. These steps are necessary to prepare your system for winter. Allowing water to be stuck in your pipes for the winter is a sure recipe for disaster as it can cause pipes to burst.

7. What are midseason checks?

These are short visits done in between start up and closing, where technicians ensure that your sprinkler system is running properly.

8. Is there a way to make my sprinkler system easy to use?

Rain Man offers a variety of controllers, that can make irrigation simpler. We can even install a smart timer that allows you to control your system from your own smart device.

9. Will an automatic sprinkler system consume more water?

Not at all! A sprinkler system tailor-fit to your needs allows for a more efficient way to water your plants. Sprinkler systems can be easily adjusted to fit your needs.

10. How can I stop my sprinkler system from running when it rains?

Rain sensors can detect if there is too much moisture in ground that will pause the system’s watering schedule. It will resume once the moisture level goes down. You can also manually adjust your watering schedule depending on the system you have installed.
